Should a child who has had tubes for more than 2 years be given plugs or absorbent cotton when swimming?

My 3.5 year old is doing a lot of bathing these days. He has his tubes still in his ears

Hello ma'am,
It is best to avoid submerging the head when wearing tubes for the first week.
If it has been 2 years, and the water is treated (chlorine or salt), it is usually not necessary to wear plugs, but it is best to check with your doctor as a precaution.
Wadding is not waterproof and could still allow water to pass through. For this purpose, they should be induced with Vaseline to help. Other rubber plugs may also be more useful for some people
Sincerely,
