What can I put on a blister under my foot?

I saw a podiatrist yesterday because I suspected, with good reason, a wart. She told me to avoid bandages (too much moisture which the wart can feed on) and to prefer "gougounes" or socks at home. Except that the product she used forms a big blister that is very painful. I can barely walk! She told me to remove the initial dressing after 24 hours. But since I'm in pain and afraid to touch the blister, I don't know how to protect it after the removal. And since I didn't think it would hurt so much, I forgot to ask her...

Hello ma'am, it is difficult to determine what to do next without having seen the lesion, could you upload some well-lit images?

Please excuse the small dust. I was wearing a black sock..
The blister is starting to form and it's swollen around

I admit the blister isn't as big as I thought it was, but with the pain I felt, it felt like it was huge before I removed the initial bandage. I think it's the swelling that's causing me pain.
What can I do to reduce the pain or at least protect my foot until the worst of the pain passes?

Thanks for the feedback, don't worry the picture is very clear :)
For pain, taking acetaminophen (Tylenol and other brands) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin and other brands if you don't have contraindications to take them, your pharmacist will be able to confirm this) are the best options.
Applying ice in a wet towel for 10 to 15 minutes as often as necessary during the day is also recommended. I suggest, if there is swelling or fluid accumulation, to cover the blister in order to avoid rubbing and bursting it.
If the redness, swelling or pain increases, you will have to consult again as a precaution.
I will remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
