I can't edit the question, but here is the context I had added:

Good morning, sir,
No, meningitis is not treated with oral medication. If your little one has just started antibiotics, we usually wait 48 to 72 hours to see how effective they are.
For now, just monitor her general condition, I am available if you have any other questions!

Thank you for your answer! Our daughter is doing a little better, but she has a lot of stomach pain and has been throwing up a few times. These seem to be common side effects of cefprozil. How long does it take for the body to absorb the medication? If she throws up two hours after taking the medication, could this reduce the effectiveness?

Thanks for the feedback!
If your child vomits 1 hour or more after taking the antibiotic, it is safe to assume that she has absorbed enough.
I suggest, if possible, to give Cefzil in the middle of a meal, or mixed in popular foods such as chocolate milk, applesauce, yogurt, juice or other.
I am available if you have any further questions!
