Hello,
Pregnancy multivitamins contain approximately the same ingredients, but what differentiates them is the amount of folic acid inside. So, some products are going to have a low (0.4-0.6mg), moderate (1mg) or high (4-5mg) dose of folic acid. Folic acid is used for the development of the nervous system, the neural tube, especially during the first months of pregnancy. For this reason, it is even recommended to consume it up to 3 months before conception.
Jamieson's prenatal complete multivitamin contains a moderate dose of folic acid, or 1mg, which is suitable for most pregnant women. However, this dose will not be sufficient for some women at high risk of having a child with a neural tube defect, i.e., those with a personal or partner history of this type of defect. If this is the case, another multivitamin would be advised.
To find out more specifically what dose of folic acid you need and what other multivitamins contain it, I suggest you go to your local pharmacist. He or she can take the time to meet with you and assess your needs.
