Good morning, ma'am,
Duloxetine will not affect your ability to conceive, but it could indeed cause problems in the fetus. According to my notes:
  • Human data for this agent, an agent in the same class, or a drug with the same mechanism of action suggest a risk of fetal toxicity. When possible, exposure during pregnancy should be avoided. However, the risk may be acceptable if the mother's condition warrants its use.
  • Duloxetine should be reserved for patients who do not respond well to better known treatments.
  • An observational study showed an increased risk of postpartum hemorrhage in women exposed to duloxetine shortly before delivery, during the last 30 days of pregnancy. Exposure during pregnancy was also associated with an increased risk of preterm delivery. According to the manufacturer, duloxetine should only be considered if the potential benefits justify the potential risks to the fetus and mother.
It is best to talk to your doctor in my opinion to see if an alternative could be prescribed.
Have a good day :)
