Hello Madam, in order to better understand your needs, would it be possible to obtain the following information:
  • How long have you been experiencing this? How often during the week?
  • Is it all day long or at specific times?
  • Have you been able to identify any causes or triggers?
  • Have you tried anything about it?
  • Are you currently taking any medications, are you pregnant or trying to get pregnant, do you have any known allergies, intolerances or contraindications?
Thank you for your time!

Hello,
I've had this problem for a little over a month now but I haven't tried anything against it, no medication.
To calm down I take milk or yoghurt or I do sports.
I feel it at particular times when I eat spices or sometimes foods containing a little acidity. Before that, I had already had digestion problems for several months.
The only medicines I take for the moment, daily, are my contraceptive pills.
Today I bought some Gaviscon at Jean Coutu but I don't know if it's what I need.

Thanks for the feedback.
Gaviscon may help relieve the symptoms temporarily.
At first glance, I think you should try to find possible causes or other triggers. What I suggest for the next 4 to 6 weeks is to keep a diary where you will write down everything you consume and the quantities, but also the activities you undertake, and your state of mind (fatigue, stress, etc.). In the second column you could write down the occurrence and extent of the symptoms. We could then identify some possible causes. This may take several weeks so I suggest being diligent.
If no cause can be suggested, I suggest consulting a physician to have a thorough evaluation of the situation and to rule out other causes.
If Gaviscon proves unsatisfactory, know that there are other options, your pharmacist will be able to suggest some of them depending on the available inventory and your preferences.
I hope that I have been helpful and remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
