I use the drug Valtrex, does it prevent me from being contagious from oral herpes?

Hi, I take Valtex regularly (1000 mg a day, prescribed by my doctor) to prevent me from getting more cold sores, as I had them abnormally often. I was wondering if I was still contagious if I took this medication AND did not have a lesion. Also, I have heard that oral herpes can be transmitted 2 days before symptoms. If this is true, even if I take Valtrex, if I have a sudden outbreak, would I be contagious 2 days before that outbreak, and therefore, could I have given the oral or genital herpes if I had sex at that time? Thank you!

Good morning, ma'am, Valtrex can help reduce contagiousness. As written, in some cases one can indeed transmit the virus without getting lesions, but again, this is diminished with the regular intake of Valtrex.
