Hello,
Anti-inflammatory drugs such as advil are generally good choices. However, when the maximum dose is used and is not sufficient, you can try naproxen, a medication available without a prescription but which can be found in pharmacies.
It could potentially be more effective for you as a replacement for advil. Like Advil, Naproxen should be taken with food as it can be irritating to the stomach.
Note that acetaminophen (tylenol equivalent) can be used alternately or together with advil or naproxen if needed. Hot baths or the use of a magic bag can also help!
