Can the new medication cause this or would it be withdrawal symptoms from the other?

Hi, I saw my doctor on Monday and she changed my sleeping meds. I was taking quietiapine and she changed it to trazodone. Since then I have had nausea, vomiting, migraine and insomnia. I would like to know if this can be normal?

Good morning, ma'am,
Depending on the length of time you take quetiapine and the dose, it is recommended that you gradually decrease the dose in order to stop it.
For trazodone, it is also recommended to start it at the lowest possible dose. Having said that, it is difficult to determine if one or the other of these products is the source of your problems, or if it is something else.
All in all, I recommend that you contact your pharmacist, who will be in a better position to assess the situation and develop a realistic game plan for you, keep your doctor informed of the steps you are taking, and follow up closely with you.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
