It is possible for you to remove the IUD. However, it may be very difficult for you. It is usually easier if your partner does it, or a doctor.
When the IUD was inserted, the doctor left two small wires at a certain length so that the IUD could be removed in the future. The IUD can be removed by gently but firmly pulling it out of the vagina, but extreme care must be taken to ensure that it has been removed completely and that no pieces have broken off and remained inside. If in doubt, consult a doctor quickly.
