Can Ozempic reduce blood pressure?

28-year-old woman2 years ago
I have been taking Ozempic for weight loss for 9 weeks. I had my injection on Sunday night. This morning I had a drop in blood pressure. Is this related to Ozempic? Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Hello Ma'am,
Did you experience any dizziness, or really a drop in blood pressure (measurement to support)?
The product can cause dizziness and can also lower blood sugar (sugar levels). One of the ways this decrease in blood sugar can manifest itself is through dizziness.
If you have been taking this medication for 9 weeks, are you at 1 mg right? Was this the first time at 1 mg?

When I took my pressure it was usually normal 107/80 second time 117/83. It really felt like I was going to pass out. I hadn't eaten yet. I am at .5 mg I am not at 1 mg yet.

Thanks for the feedback!
it could also be due to the fact that you haven't eaten (and/or drank) yet. While it's not impossible, it's unlikely to be due to the Ozempic considering you've already had a few doses of 0.5 mg. What I can suggest is that you watch for this in future injections and, if necessary, when you switch to 1mg. If it turns out that you are not tolerating the product or dose, I would suggest talking to your pharmacist who can evaluate possible alternatives for you.
I will remain available if you have any further questions!
