I have back pain in my lower left side. What should I do to relieve my pain?

The pain is located on the left side of the spine at the bottom. Sometimes it is like a shock that spreads to the lower back. The pain is really accentuated when I sit (I sit all day at work). I remember locking my back in the early fall and it seems like the pain comes back every now and then. It sometimes radiates to my left leg. But the worst is really when I sit for a long time.

Basically it is only one side?

Do you also have pain in your upper back?

Does lying down or standing up give you relief or does it make no difference?

Have you tried any products so far to get relief?

Yes it's really more on the left but sometimes it hurts so much that it's all the way down

my pain doesn't affect any other part of my back it's really localized in the bottom like near the coccyx.

i think that when I get up it relieves me because when I sit for a long time it is really painful. When I move it doesn't make it worse.

for the moment I put a warm bag and tylenol/advil

Okay, thanks for the clarification. There is inflammation for sure according to what you describe to me. Also, there is probably compression of the sciatic nerve, which is what is causing the sensation in your leg. Also, the impingement in the back that you are talking about will eventually need to be evaluated by a doctor. It could be an intervertebral disc that is pressing on your nerves or inflamed vertebrae

Until you see your doctor, I can help you. We have group prescriptions in our pharmacy that allow us to prescribe certain treatments. I could do a videoconsultation with you tomorrow (it's a free service) and following my evaluation prescribe anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxants. This would at least ease this episode while you make an appointment.

It is also possible to go to the pharmacy if you wish.
