My throat, ears and head hurt. I get sinusitis a lot so I guess that's what it is. My nose doesn't seem to be clogged. What should I do?

I already do Sinus Rinse. I also have Apo-Mometasone at home. What is the best remedy? My ears and throat are the most painful (Bactrin allergy).

Hello Ma'am,
The pain you are experiencing in your ears and throat may be related to the presence of mucus. This is because there is a small duct that connects the throat and the ear (Eustachian tube). So, if you are already doing the Sinus Rinse™, it would be possible to use the following technique:
  • When the nose is clear of most of its secretions, use a product like Otrivin™. This will work by opening the small canal that connects the ear and throat (the Eustachian tube);
  • About 30 to 45 minutes after applying Otrivin to your nose, do the Valsalva maneuver, which involves pinching the nose with your fingers, closing your mouth and "blowing" while swallowing. It may sound complicated written here, but it's pretty simple.
By doing this you will allow the Eustachian tube to open and allow the fluid that has accumulated in the ear to drain out (as illustrated here, at about 1:40).
This is worth a try before you even think about seeing a doctor. In addition to this technique, you could take Tylenol™ and honey lozenges to soothe your throat.
If nothing improves within 2 days, I invite you to consult.
Happy day,
