I have had a sore throat when I swallow for 5 full days and the pain does not go away. I have been tested for strep throat and it is negative. What should I do?

If the time was done several days ago, it might be tempting to retake it to see if it would now be negative, especially if your score on page 2 of the following document is 3 or higher.

If the test is still fresh, try to relieve the pain with the use of Tylenol™ and Advil™. The virus will eventually go away in about 7 days and the pain will go away on its own.
