My throat only hurts when I swallow and the pain goes all the way to my left ear! What can I do about it?

I have a sore throat that goes to my left ear. I did a covid test and it was negative. I tried to make an appointment at the clinic but they are not taking patients with covid symptoms despite a negative test. The only availability they have at a COVID clinic is next Wednesday but I have a lot of trouble swallowing since Monday

Hello,
In order to properly assess your situation, I need to validate some information
Do you have a fever?
Are you still able to eat normally?
Do you feel like razor blades when you swallow?
Do you feel a burning in your throat?

Hello,
No, I don't have a fever.
Yes I can eat normally but it hurts
I don't know what the razor blade sensation is but it's a bit like that with a mixture of burning but it's less present in my throat! I really feel the pain in the back of my left ear more

Thank you for the clarification. Based on what you are describing, it is most likely a viral throat infection. The burning sensation that extends to the ear is fairly typical. The razor blade sensation and difficulty swallowing are also part of it. Normally, this type of infection does not cause a fever. There is nothing you can do to speed up the healing process and a visit to the doctor is not necessary
Simply relieve the symptoms with Advil lozenges and tablets. Its anti-inflammatory effect will significantly reduce the burning in the ear. The symptoms should go away on their own within 7 days
I hope I have answered your question
