Ankle/calf pain that occurs during specific movements following a "strain". What to do?

28-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, I have had a sore ankle/calf since September after a bad landing when I was running. I stepped in a hole and when my foot touched the ground, I felt a "strain", I put ice on it right away and in the evening. I thought it would go away but after 1 1/2 months it hurts when I do squats or specific movements (e.g. bending over like a squat). I went to see the massage therapist twice, but I'm not sure where the pain is coming from, if it's my bone or my calf. Do you have any advice/ideas?

Hello, thank you for your question!
It is impossible to know without a minimum of tests, including perhaps an X-ray imaging
I would advise you to make an appointment with a physiotherapist first. They are in the best position to assess an injury and treat it. If deemed necessary, they will refer you to a physician.
I hope this has been helpful to you and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me
