I read that there is a probiotic from the bio k brand for IBS with diarrhea tendencies: do you think it would be a good option?

Hello, For the past few weeks I have been having trouble with my intestinal transit, especially for the past few days. I have diarrhea every day and as soon as I finish eating, I have a lot of gurgling in my stomach and I have to stay near the toilet. My doctor once told me that he thought I had irritable bowel syndrome but he never confirmed it. I know I have a lot of stress lately and that can increase the symptoms. I was wondering if there was anything I could take to help with this discomfort. It is very uncomfortable. Thank you

Good morning, ma'am,
There is no concrete data indicating the effectiveness of this type of product. Also, the bacterial flora can be very different from one person to another, like fingerprints! These products are therefore not personalized to your flora, especially since there is no indication that your symptoms are the result of an imbalance in your flora.
This being said, you can try it if you wish but do not expect miracles. Also be aware that probiotics can cause diarrhea in some people.
Stress and anxiety are major factors in causing diarrhea, and if you believe they are the cause, that is what you need to look into.
I hope I've been helpful, and I'm available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,

Okay, if not, is there anything I can do to help relieve this symptom?

You must discover the cause, or possible causes.
To this end, I suggest that for the next 4 to 6 weeks you keep a diary in which you write down everything you consume and the quantities, but also the activities you undertake, and your state of mind (fatigue, stress, etc.). In the second column you could write down the occurrence and extent of the symptoms. We could then identify some possible causes. This may take several weeks so I suggest being diligent.
If no cause can be suggested, I suggest consulting a physician to get a thorough evaluation of the situation.
I hope I have been helpful and remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
