I read that Celebrex was a more dangerous drug for stroke or heart attack? Is this true or does it need further clarification? Thank you for your attention!

For a specific problem, I have already taken Naproxen (sprain - menstrual pain). Now, given my age (67), my doctor prescribes Celebrex (while waiting for more precise examinations) (in 2007: left foraminal stenosis L5-S1). P.S.: I have had ophthalmic migraines since I was about 23 years old.

Hello !
Naproxen does indeed appear to be associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular events than Celebrex or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as diclofenac or ibuprofen.
However, it should be kept in mind that the risk varies depending on the dose, duration of use, risk factors for cardiovascular disease (high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, diabetes, weight, age, etc.) and the presence of cardiovascular disease
I would also like to inform you that other factors are taken into account when choosing an anti-inflammatory drug. In fact, Celebrex is safer at the gastrointestinal level than Naproxen. So it may be a better option for you depending on your history and risk factors
If you're not sure whether Celebrex is the best option for you, I encourage you to contact your doctor or pharmacist. With access to your complete file, they can better advise you.
