The most common cause of this type of symptom, in my opinion, is a fungus on the penis (a yeast, to be exact). This sometimes occurs in men (especially uncircumcised) who have had sex with a woman in the past.

The treatment is pretty simple: apply clotrimazole cream (Canesten™) twice a day to the glans, for 10 days.

If after the treatment, the situation arises again, then a doctor should be consulted.
