Is linalool and other substances extracted from essential oils such as citroneme, citronellol to be avoided?

Hello I used the philosophy purity face and eye cleanser during the 1st trimester. Among the ingredients of this cleanser, I just saw that there is linalool. I read that linalool is an alcohol from essential oils. I was wondering if it was dangerous to have used it as a cleanser. Is linalool considered an essential oil and should it be avoided during pregnancy? Are there any risks in cosmetics when they use the substance for perfume?

Linalool is usually considered safe during pregnancy. As for fragrance in cleansers, they are usually to be avoided as they can contribute to irritation or dryness of the skin.
I don't have any data on their products, or use during pregnancy. The best solution would be to call the manufacturer directly, as a precaution. Here is their number:
