to answer your question, loperamide is safe for breastfeeding. However, this medication is not recommended in most situations where there is diarrhea. I strongly suggest that you call your pharmacist before taking such a medication to get advice tailored to your needs. For example, Imodium(R) is contraindicated in cases of gastroenteritis, parasites, bacteria, fever, persistent diarrhea, diarrhea with blood, and so on.
I remind you that rehydration is very important in cases of diarrhea. There are sachets to dilute or products already prepared in pharmacies for this purpose to avoid dehydration. Dehydration could affect your breastfeeding.
