My daughter coughs at every meal and has no other symptoms?

My 5 year old daughter had influenza last December. Since then, I have noticed that she coughs at every meal, only when she eats. A dry cough. She does not choke. She tells us her throat tickles and doesn't cough at other times.

Good morning, ma'am,
Does she have any other symptoms such as a blocked or runny nose, even a little? Have you tried anything for this problem?

Hi, she has no other symptoms at the moment and her condition is #1, hence my questioning. We have not tried anything and she is not complaining. It was mostly me who was wondering about this. Thank you for your help!

Thanks for the information! There may be several factors at play here, including taste rhinitis, where eating food can trigger sinus drips from behind in the throat like a leaky faucet. Also, coughing can persist after a bout of flu for several weeks, it is often the last symptom to go away.
I would therefore suggest trying to identify causative foods with a journal, as well as nasal hygiene with saline solution that can be done as often as needed, especially 30-60 minutes before meals, or even during a shower/bath as maintenance/prevention.
Otherwise, if her general condition is good, just monitor the situation to make sure she doesn't deteriorate :)
Hopefully I've been helpful, I'm still available if you have any other questions!
