Can black fly bites cause swollen glands and diarrhea?

I went to a field on Saturday and got bitten 30-50 times by black flies. (shoulders, neck and back of the head) now I have swollen and tender glands in my neck and scalp. I also had diarrhea 3-4 times today. What should I do?

Hello ma'am, I am sorry to read about your troubles! now, just monitor the situation. Many things can cause swollen nodes. The same goes for diarrhea. I encourage you to stay well hydrated and to favour light foods such as crackers, soups and broths, toast with butter, eggs, etc. Avoid heavy or sweet foods such as red meat and undiluted fruit juices, as well as milk If the situation persists for more than a week or worsens, I suggest that you consult a doctor, purely as a precaution.
