Can cbd oil and sertraline cause any harm when used together?

Hello, I take certralin daily for my anxiety but several side effects bother me. I would like to turn to a more appropriate and natural medication. I also take Vyvance daily for my ADD. This week I tried CBD oil in addition to other medications, I felt much more comfortable, zen, confident and focused in class. I would like to continue taking CBD but I am concerned about the possible health hazards of mixing medications. Certraline (1 tablet of 25mg per day) Vyvance (1 tablet of 40mg per day) Cannabis oil (50ml 2-3 times a day) (total CBD 9,67 mg/ml) (total THC 0,28mg/ml) Certraline and Vyvance prescribed, obtained from pharmacies Oil legally procured at the SQDC, Product name : Liberate Brand : Soleil Supplier : Aphria Be generous with your information and explanations, I will read everything! Thank you very much, Victor

Hello Sir,
We still have very little hindsight to answer this type of question (interaction between CBD and drugs) with certainty. That said, we know more and more about the theoretical impacts of CBD consumption on drug metabolism.
So, we know, for example, that CBD consumption on a regular basis can reduce the performance of the liver in the elimination of drugs that pass through the cytochrome P450 2C19 pathway. The role of this cytochrome is to transform certain drugs (including sertraline) so that the body is able to eliminate it.
It is also known that in people who take stimulant medications, cannabis can increase the risk of cardiac side effects (accelerated beats, among others). However, it is not known if this can also occur with only CBD.
Bref, there is indeed a theoretical risk associated with the use of sertraline and CBD (when the latter is consumed regularly). This risk translates into a decrease in the elimination of sertraline and thus a possible increase in its (side) effects.
