What is the schedule I should follow to administer Tylenol and Advil to my 2 year old daughter?

Hello, my 21 month old daughter (9.9kg) just saw the doctor: she has an ear infection in both ears and pharyngitis. She recommended that I alternate tylenol and advil for 2-3 days until the antibiotic takes effect.

Hello,
For children of this age, we recommend Tylenol every 4 hours (maximum 5 doses per day) and Advil every 6 hours (maximum 4 doses per day). There is no danger in giving the two medications at close intervals. To make it easier, you can simply give them alternately every 3 hours. In any case, I advise you to keep track of which product you give at what time, as it can get quite confusing.
Finally, to make sure you are giving the right dose, I leave you here the doses calculated according to your daughter's weight.
Advil: 99 mg (2.5 ml of the pediatric drops or 5 ml of the children's suspension)
Tylenol: 149 mg (1.9 ml of the infant suspension or 4.7 ml of the children's suspension)
I hope this answers your question,
Sandrine

Also vomiting 20 minutes after taking Amoxil Is this normal?

Hello,
Antibiotics can indeed cause nausea and even vomiting. Giving it on a full stomach (during or right after a meal) can really help avoid this type of side effect
If vomiting occurs within 30 minutes of taking it, the medication can be considered not to have been absorbed and it can be given again. If it's been more than 30 minutes, we wait until the next dose to give more.
I hope this answers your question,
Sandrine
