Good morning, ma'am,
It is indeed strongly recommended that you do not consume alcohol if you are taking fluoxetine, regardless of the time of day.
First, alcohol can worsen depressive and anxiety symptoms, even with small amounts. Alcohol can also make side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and nausea worse.
Alcohol can also decrease the quality of sleep, which in turn can worsen or trigger anxiety or depressive symptoms.
People with mood disorders such as anxiety or depression are at much higher risk for substance use disorders, including alcohol. Alcohol can impair judgment and this can be amplified in the presence of anxiety or depressive symptoms.
I would also like to point out, in general, that alcohol use is associated with a negative impact on physical, mental and psychological health.
All of this adds up to your age being below the minimum legal drinking age.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, Pharmacist
