After how many days would it be safe to return to daycare after an episode of gastroenteritis?

Hello, my educator and her children in home daycare have started to get sick (gastro). For the moment my boy had diarrhea this morning and my daughter complained of heartache but no vomiting for the moment and she is keeping the food. I am 21 weeks pregnant and I am staying away from this virus.

Hello Mrs,
Gastroenteritis is transmitted by contact with objects, hands or surfaces contaminated by infected people. The person is contagious as long as he or she has symptoms. I suggest washing hands, toys and surfaces, including door handles and toilets, frequently.
I will be available if you have any further questions!

Am I better off waiting 24-48 hours before returning to daycare or would I be better off keeping the kids at home for the week?

Yes, it is usually recommended to wait at least 24 hours after the symptoms have disappeared before returning them to the daycare.
