Hello,
Thank you for your question. In order to answer it properly, I would like to have some clarifications.
1) Concerning the stools, are they well formed or liquid? Is there any blood present?
2) How long have you noticed mucus in your child's stool? Is mucus present in every stool?
3) Is your child taking any medications?
I look forward to being able to enlighten you further

These stools are mostly yellow liquid with lumps as they should be, there is no blood. They have been like this for over a week. Baby seems to be doing well in general and is not taking any medication.

Thank you for the answers
Mucus in a newborn's stool can be due to several causes. It is true that it can be a sign of allergy or intolerance, but it can also be due to an overproduction of saliva, a symptom of malabsorption of certain nutrients or simply transitory and benign. Here is a website with relevant information
In your case, the other signs are reassuring. It is important to make sure the baby is gaining weight. However, since this has been going on for more than a week, I would advise you to see a doctor if not resolved in the next few days. The cause of the mucus is important to determine in order to treat it if necessary and to prevent diaper rash
Have a nice evening,
Justin
