I am doing very well, thank you! I hope the same is true for you.
For a child this young, I do not recommend using over-the-counter creams (e.g. Abreva™). I actually prefer that one use products that we have more experience with in children. Unfortunately, these creams are all available by prescription only.
So, if the cold sore has been present for more than 2 days, it won't make much difference to apply the cream for that episode. However, I recommend that you initiate steps with a doctor to get a cream for the next episode.
In case your appointment is in a few days and the lesion is gone, I recommend that you take pictures to show the doctor.
