I have rheumatoid arthritis and will be starting Rituxan shortly. I am also on flecainide for cardiac arrhythmias. Are there any extra precautions I should take when infusing Rituxan? Thank you.

You were very wise to ask a pharmacist your question. Rituxan (rituximab) may cause arrhythmias during and in the hours following the infusion. It is therefore suggested that you be put on a cardiac monitor during the infusion and in the hours that follow.
