I have many unwanted side effects with Dutasteride (Avodart). Could saw palmetto help?

I have been taking Dutasteride (Avodart) for 5 or 6 years for benign prostatic hyperplasia. Despite this, as soon as I drink even moderately, I have to urinate very frequently, which makes my life difficult. My doctor prescribed a second medication (Rapaflo), but unfortunately no improvement after 3-4 months and as a side effect, almost no sperm during sexual relations.

Another side effect is retrograde ejaculation. Would a natural remedy like saw palmetto be more effective and without unpleasant side effects?

Unfortunately, saw palmetto works somewhat like your Avodart. In doing so, I don't think you will get much benefit from combining these two treatments.

Although retrograde ejaculation is unpleasant, it is not dangerous.

I recommend that you talk to your doctor about urinary antimuscarinics, a family of medications that sometimes help reduce the frequency of urination (going to the bathroom). I believe that these medications may be more effective than saw palmetto for the situation you are trying to address.
