I am taking ATACAND-8 which is in the VALSARTAN (diovan) family, is this product cancer-causing like valsartan? If so, what would that drug be?

Medication prescribed 6 years ago (2012) for treatment of hypertension. BP is well controlled. Does the Health Canada recall of valsartan affect candesartan?

Hello Madam,

Don't worry anymore, the Health Canada recall does not affect the candesartan that is in your Atacand. It is therefore not necessary to change your antihypertensive medication in your case.
