I have a congenital heart defect, Ebstein, with an artificial tricuspid valve made of bovine tissue. I also take anticoagulants and crestor.

Good morning, sir,

When do you take your Norvasc? Taking it at the end of the day, before bedtime, can reduce swelling in the legs in many cases.

I take it before bedtime. I take bisoprolol at breakfast along with crestor and coumadin.

Thank you for this information. Considering the blood pressure values you shared with me in your question, as well as the fact that you suffer from edema of the lower limbs (the swelling between the knee and the stockings), I believe you should discuss with your pharmacist and your doctor to reconsider the need to take Norvasc. In my opinion, this would be wiser than adding a new medication.

P.S. There are also stockings (called support stockings) that would allow in your case to reduce the swelling without having to take a diuretic. Talk to your pharmacist and your doctor if Norvasc cannot be stopped or if the swelling remains despite stopping it.

That's what I thought. I'm supposed to discuss this with my cardiologist, so we'll see what he suggests we do.
