What to replace Pregabalin with?

73-year-old woman3 years ago
I take Pregabalin 100g at bedtime, and I have a heaviness in my head? I'm a little worried about this. I take this medication for neuropathic leg pain, I have spinal stenosis, and severe arthritis, 2 hip replacements. I've been taking it for a few years, but it's fairly recently that I've had this pain and heaviness in my neck and head.

Hello, thank you for your question!
There are several pharmacological options that can be tried if pregabalin is not effective or tolerated. However, it is impossible to make such recommendations on this platform because of your medical history and other treatments tried in the past. In this regard, your pharmacist is in an excellent position to conduct a short consultation with you to determine what alternatives can be suggested to your doctor
I would like to qualify your expectations, however, as spinal stenosis usually responds very poorly to pharmacological treatments. The treatment goals are mostly around staying active and being able to perform your daily activities
Also, I don't know if it's already underway, but physiotherapy is often suggested to preserve or improve your condition.
I hope I have been helpful to you, and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
