I feel a small painless bump when I feel my neck on the left side?

40-year-old womana year ago
Hello, I feel a small painless bump when I feel my neck on the left side, depending on my position. I was sick in November and had a big stress two weeks ago. My boyfriend says it's a normal little lump. I have a tendency to get hypochondriac so I don't want to go back to my doctor for nothing but don't want to let something bad happen. Plus, I've been kicking it ever since...I'm fixated on it. Thanks for your advice.

Good morning, ma'am,
This kind of feeling can occur following an episode of illness or anxiety, among others. If there are no symptoms, I would suggest that you just monitor the situation.
I suggest that you avoid touching it to avoid irritating the area, this is important.
If the situation persists for more than 2 to 3 weeks without improvement, I suggest that you consult a doctor as a precaution. I will remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
