I will stop my estrogel next week. I will also stop my Prometrium once I stop taking estrogel. Can I stop Prometrium gradually?

I have been taking hormones for 5 years. I've been weaning myself off them for 4 months. Would you suggest that I wean myself off prometrium as well? I am afraid of having insomnia because I know that prometrium helps me sleep.

Hello Ma'am, I'm glad to hear that the withdrawal is going well! For Prometrium™, it is impossible to cut the capsules to allow for a gradual withdrawal. In such a case, because indeed this medication helps a bit with sleep, it is possible to skip a dose every other day initially, then take only one dose every 3 days, then every 4, then every 5, etc. This could help decrease the risk of insomnia.
