Hello, Here is some information I found on the LactMed database: Topical benzoyl peroxide: Not studied in breastfeeding. Since it is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream (about 5%), the impact in children is considered minimal and not significant. Topical salicylic acid: Not studied in breastfeeding, but poorly absorbed into the blood. Considered safe for breastfeeding. Topical retinol: Not studied in breastfeeding. Topical retinol has a low absorption rate, but we do not know concretely the impact it will have and we know that oral retinoids are contraindicated in breastfeeding. Although they could be used with care, respecting the frequency of application on a small surface, there are other alternatives so I do not recommend it while breastfeeding.
