I have very dry lips, what can I apply?

Hello, I have had dry lips for a long time. My mouth never seems to be moisturized enough even though I've tried various products (e.g. laneige's night lip mask). Nothing makes my lips plump and moisturized... They are always dry, cracked. Under my bottom lip, I always have a white line that sometimes "chips" so much that it's dry... I don't know what to do anymore!

Hello Madam, since when have you noticed this? Is it with the coming of the cold weather?
What products have you tried, how often and for how long? Do you have this problem elsewhere on your body?
Are you currently taking any other medications?

Hello,
i've been doing this for a long time, I'd say since I started high school so it's been 7-8 years. Whether it's summer or winter, it happens. In the summer my lips are dry and I feel like I react to the sun more like a sunburn. In the winter I have chapped lips despite everything I try. I don't have this problem anywhere else on my body and I only take birth control pills as medication. As a product, I have used different things like the brand blistex, with or without fps inside the product. I have also tried natural lip scrub (lush) but nothing is really conclusive. I don't know if it could be caused by the fact that my lips depend too much on products and don't moisturize themselves anymore...?

Thank you for the information!
Hello Mrs.,
You did the right thing by trying products like Blistex, the basis of the treatment being hydration and other non-pharmacological measures:
An ointment or balm such as Vaseline or other balm should be applied as often as needed, depending on your preference. This should be applied whenever needed, and before and after outings among other things.
Avoid using soap on the face, clear water is sufficient and you will need to lightly tap to leave a thin layer of moisture, then apply moisturizer quickly after.
In cold weather, be sure to protect the face (scarf, neck warmer, etc.).
If the air is too dry indoors, you can also suggest a humidifier for your room. As for the sun, you should protect your skin in summer and winter with a screen with an SPF of at least 30.
Some references indicate that omega-3 supplementation could help alleviate dryness. However, these data are not yet mature.
I hope I've been helpful, and I'm available if you have any further questions!
