What should I do about my 21-month-old baby's cough?

My baby has been coughing a lot for a few days (wet cough). Her nose is running too. She does not have a fever and her general condition is good. She is currently 21 months old. I would like to know what cough syrup can be used at her age? Especially at night, as her cough wakes her up.

Hello Mrs,
Unfortunately, syrups have not been shown to be effective or superior to drinking lots of fluids. At his age, a teaspoon of honey may be more effective.
The best treatment for the symptoms you describe is nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and others), which can be done as often as needed during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime, followed by suctioning the secretions with a baby fly. By 'cleaning' the nasal secretions, we can reduce their backward flow, which often causes coughing. It's a little uncomfortable but it works wonders!
I would also encourage you to give your baby plenty to drink, even if it's in smaller amounts more often
I hope I've been helpful, I'm still available if you have any other questions!
