Hello, I have a hemorrhoid that has persisted for over three years. I have almost daily bleeding. The pain is very variable. I have changed my diet to increase my water and fiber intake. I am very rarely constipated, the same for diarrhea.
I have been taking Concerta and the contraceptive vaginal ring for several years.

Hello!
Preventing constipation like you did is already a very good way to prevent symptoms from getting worse.
If you want to try a treatment to try to alleviate the symptoms, you can use over-the-counter products such as Anusol or Anusol Plus cream. It should be applied regularly twice a day in the morning and evening, and if necessary during the day after each bowel movement for a maximum of 7 days. Unfortunately, although these products work very well for some people, they are not very powerful. So if your symptoms have been going on for a few years, they may not be enough.
Usually, it is advisable to consult a doctor when:
There is recurrent bleeding
You have heavy bleeding
Bleeding with pain when you have a bowel movement
Very severe pain
Presence of black stools (sign of a possible digestive bleeding)
If the hemorrhoid stays out after a bowel movement
So, since you seem to be bleeding quite regularly and the symptoms have been going on for a few years, it would be best to see a doctor to get the best treatment possible. However, if you want to try over-the-counter products for 1 week to see how the symptoms evolve, I don't see the problem!
