Hello, I would like to know if fenugreek capsules have any undesirable effects on the pill (e.g. reduction of its effectiveness)?

I am very concerned because I am on the pill and I had sex without a condom while taking the fenugreek capsules

Hello,
In general, fenugreek does not reduce the effectiveness of the birth control pill. So, if you take your pill regularly, as prescribed and without forgetting, your risk of pregnancy is virtually zero, even if you were to take fenugreek at the same time. 🙂
On the other hand, fenugreek can have several other side effects, such as stomach upset (e.g. nausea). These side effects may be in addition to those experienced when taking the birth control pill.
In order to be able to advise you further on taking these medications concomitantly, would it be possible to know:
  • The reason for taking fenugreek
  • The name of your birth control pill
In other words, I would suggest that you consult with your pharmacist before starting any natural product to make sure the treatment is appropriate for you.

Hello
Already thank you for your answer which reassured me.
Then the reasons for taking fenugreek was for my hair I had heard from several people that it worked to make it silkier I had already inquired before to find out if there were any effects with the pill and I had been told no but after I heard from people saying the opposite so I preferred to be sure and my pill and the Optilova 20

I am glad if my answer was able to reassure you 🙂 It is a good reflex to have contacted us following information that seemed to you to be contradictory!
As previously mentioned, the use of fenugreek with your contraceptive pill, i.e. Optilova in this case, does not affect the efficacy of the contraception.
On the other hand, I would like to mention that there does not seem to be any scientific data supporting the effectiveness of fenugreek in making hair silkier. You may want to talk to a hair care professional to find a better alternative for you.
Thank you,
