I would like to have a genetic test to see if my medication is right for me. How do I do this?

I have just had an infractus and had stents put in. I read that some medications used after a heart attack can be less effective in some people. My family doctor doesn't know about this kind of test, so I thought about the pharmacists.

It is true that the effectiveness of some drugs used to lower pressure, as well as some drugs that reduce the risk of getting clots in your stents, can be affected by your genetic code.

In Quebec, I know of only one company that offers this type of test and that is BiogeniQ. The tests seem to be available online, but you can also check to see if your pharmacist is on the list of professionals who offer the test. Follow this link and enter your postal code to find out:

First of all, check with your pharmacist to see if your medications are on the list found on the company's website, here: https://biogeniq.ca/nos-produits/profil-pharma-cardio/
