I took Effexor XR (extended release) and threw up. I am taking 37.5mg. Should I take a second dose?

How long was there between taking your medication and your vomiting?

If you have vomited 1 hour after taking it, ideally, do not take another dose. If you vomited within the first 15 minutes, it would be better to take another dose.

If the time period is between the 2, I believe that to ensure your safety and to avoid taking a double dose, I would not take another dose. Since the dose of Effexor XR is the lowest and you have not been taking it for very long, there is very little risk of withdrawal side effects. However, taking a double dose may cause more side effects such as nausea, headache, etc
