Good evening,
There is a phenomenon called "insulin resistance" that could occur in some diabetic patients when they inject too high doses of insulin, but it remains a phenomenon that is still under study and quite rare
If you think that insulin doses are no longer sufficient to control your diabetes after several years, you should first check if this is happening while your living conditions remain constant, i.e. is your diet stable, is your health status the same, are your lifestyle habits relatively the same from one day to the next, etc? Let's not forget that the body's response to insulin can also vary in weakness with age. In this case, depending on whether you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, it may be necessary to supplement your insulin with oral antidiuretic medication.
I hope this sheds some light on the subject. If you need more information, please contact me and I will be happy to continue to help you.
Sincerely,
David Tan, Pharmacist
