How long does it take to get hives? Should I seek medical attention? Should I continue taking Benadryl?

For the last 3 days, I have had hives on my arms, face and sometimes my back. I'm taking Benadryl, but still, it continues. Nothing new to eat, no medication, nothing unusual. I don't know what to do anymore, it's quite disturbing and it worries me.

The cause of this condition is often a mystery, as many things can cause it. Benadryl was a very good idea. You can also use an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream on the lesions. Also, products containing colloidal oatmeal such as Aveeno can greatly relieve the itch. Hives can last from a few hours to a few days. If they are not accompanied by other symptoms such as fever, they are usually mild.
