I am concerned about the adverse effects of this medication on the fetus. What are the potential risks and recommendations?

Hello. I am 33 years old and currently taking a medication for anxiety, escitalopram 10 mg. I am considering the idea of having a second child.

Hello, a badly treated anxiety is much more harmful than escitalopram. In addition to a different follow-up during pregnancy, hundreds of women have continued to take this treatment during pregnancy without risk of malformations or complications.
Just be sure to take folic acid 3 months before conception and notify your doctor of your plans to discuss a course of action

Hello
Thank you very much for your answer. I read that there was a risk of increased autism in children whose mothers were taking this medication. Is this true? And it seems that the lowest dose was recommended to avoid a withdrawal effect in the newborn.

I would say no to austism.
Indeed, we use the smallest effective dose especially when we approach the delivery and the baby will be monitored, but in general, it goes very well.
