We are going on a trip and I wanted to know if Imodium for 5-6 years old exists? Yes, we will have antibiotics but if we have a little diarrhea we can try imodium or others?

Good morning, ma'am,
Imodium does exist for acute diarrhea for children, in liquid form, but this product is not indicated for the treatment of infectious diarrhea. It is therefore not recommended to give Imodium to a child for traveler's diarrhea. An antibiotic may be prescribed in case of severe symptoms, and non-pharmacological measures will be preferred. Your pharmacist can elaborate on this during the consultation.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
