How can I help my constipated formula-fed newborn? She is on nestle organic good start.

My formula-fed newborn might be constipated. Her stools are small and hard, and only once a day. She doesn't seem intolerant to her formula since she still feeds regularly and doesn't spit up. Exercise seem to help her have bigger stools but still solid ones. What can I do?

Hello, and thank you for your question!
Small and hard stools do not necessarily indicate a problem. Bare in mind that your newborn is still learning to digest on her own.
What is suggested to help soften the stools is to give her small quantities of water to drink, before, during, or after her feedings. Water is the best solution to help soften stools.
Here is an example of water your newborn can safely drink:
Also, small exercises such as having her on her back and flexing her legs as if to touch her knees on her chest, or to mimic bicycling, can also help.
I hope I’ve been helpful, please do not hesitate if you have other questions
