Spotting and bleeding with the continuous pill, what to do?

46-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello I am 45 years old. I know it is not the first time... In October 2021 I stopped the pill continuously alesse. My boyfriend was vasectomized .... last May I lost a lot of blood menstruation ... Anemia and I take iron supplements since then ... I restarted Alesse continuously on July 21 (21 days pack) and so on, from August 19 spotting, but since August 24 menstruation a lot every day .... blood, small clots ... I am at the beginning of my 3rd pack ... Should I stop a few days? The pill? Should I stop the pill for a few days? And then resume in 4 days or finish the pack? I can't stop bleeding and I'm worried. My appointment with doct telephone is on September 20...is this normal? Does it bother me that I keep taking the pill every day? Thank you for helping me!

Hello Madam, thank you for your question, sorry to read about your troubles!
Although it is quite unpleasant, bleeding can occur while taking the contraceptive continuously. This usually stops on its own. You can either continue taking the pill as planned, or take a break of 3 to 4 days as long as you have taken the pill without missing any periods in the previous 21 days.
I hope this has been helpful to you and I am available if you have any further questions
