Hello,
My son had a fever from Thursday to Saturday night. About 39.6-39.5
Then, Saturday morning, he was not able to swallow his saliva anymore. He was spitting it out. Today, Sunday, he is now able to swallow his saliva and eat.

Good morning, ma'am,
I am reassured that he can drink and eat now.
Acetaminophen (Tylenol, Tempra and other brands) remains the best option for fever and throat pain, and encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids.
If symptoms persist for more than a week without improvement, or the fever lasts longer than 72 hours, a doctor should be consulted.
I hope this has been helpful and I am available if you have any further questions
